Patrick Minford was born on 17th May 1943, Educated at Balliol College, Oxford where he gained a BA, MSc and PhD in Economics. He has been adviser to the Ministry of Overseas Development, to Malawi’s Ministry of Finance, Courtaulds and to the Treasury in addition to a wide range of academic posts including Professor at Cardiff Business School since 1997. Professor Minford has held various directorships and sits on many economic advisory panels including the Monopolies and Mergers Commission between1990 and 1996. He was awarded CBE in January 1996 for services to economics and remains one of the world’s foremost economics expert speakers.
