A native of Quebec City, Canada, MacDonald began his stand-up career performing in comedy clubs throughout Canada. Upon moving to Los Angeles he became a writer on the hit series Roseanne.
Born in 1962 in Quebec, Norm MacDonald has also appeared in films with Adam Sandler and the highly acclaimed The People vs. Larry Flynt.
MacDonald's first starring role in a motion picture was as Mitch in Dirty Work, a comedy that opened in 1998 Co-starring with Chevy Chase.
