After Dinner Speakers: Neil Armstrong, Leslie Ash, Tamzin Outhwaite

Neil Armstrong underwent flight training in Pensacola, Florida. However, when the Korean War broke out in 1950, Neil, 20, set aside his books and joined the United States Navy where he became a jet pilot – the youngest in his squadron where he flew 78 combat missions during his tour of duty. Armstrong was decidedly one of the most talented young pilots among his peers. NASA accepted him as one of only the second group of astronauts in its history, and Armstrong immediately began specialized training to become an astraunaught. He and his colleague Buzz Aldrin walked on the moon on July 20, 1969. He is an entertaining speaker on his own unique experiences.
