Dr. Min Basadur is the world's leading expert in the implementation of creative thinking and problem solving processes for tangible business results. Typical applications include new product innovation, strategic planning, productivity, employee involvement, profitability, performance management, continous quality improvement, R&D management, creative selling, idea generation and team work. By involving employees at every level in using their creativity, he was instrumental in helping Frito-Lay achieve a $500 million bottom line cost improvement in four years and Procter & Gamble in achieving first year annual savings of $600 million. He consults internationally with many other large and small organizations including PepsiCo, McCormick, Ford Motor Co., The U.S. Air Force Aerospace Laboratories, Stelco, USA Today, Pillsbury, Girl Guides/Scouts, St. Joseph's Hospital, Clemson University, Kimball International, Atomic Energy of Canada, CIBC, the Sisters of St. Benedict, and others.
Upon completing engineering physics at the University of Toronto he joined Procter and Gamble in Research and Development. Soon after, he began developing and practising on-the-job applied creativity skills within the organization. As his experience of implementing creativity expanded, he was awarded three patents and helped bring several new products to market. His unique background in both engineering and psychology led to his interest in how innovation evolves from synergizing analytical and imaginative thought. This led to the extensive development of his Simplex creative problem solving methodology as he learned how to apply creativity in every function and department of the company on virtually every kind of problem and opportunity as an internal management consultant.
