Considered by many to be the undisputed champion of the chat show, Michael Parkinson is familiar to listeners and viewers all over Britain. Starting out as a newspaper journalist, Michael moved into television as a producer for Granada Television, before going on to host a number of shows, including the celebrated Parkinson. As a media pioneer, Michael co-founded both Pavilion Books and TV-am. He has written regularly for many newspapers, currently writing a weekly sports column in the Daily Telegraph. In March 1995, Michael was named Sports Feature Writer Of The Year at the British Sports Journalism Awards.
