After Dinner Speakers: Maureen Lipman, Chubby Checker, David Duchovny

After training at LAMDA, Maureen appeared in The Knack at The Palace Theatre, followed by the film Up The Junction, before joining The Stables theatre Company in Manchester. She then left Manchester to join the National Theatre Company at the Old Vic for 2 years playing ‘Molly’ in The Front Page. Maureen is married to Jack Rosenthal the writer, and has enjoyed a varied career in acting, appearing in many plays such as Tom Stoppard’s Night and Day and Martin Sherman’s Messiah. Her most noticeable television appearances include ‘Marge’ in Absent Friends, and Maggie in the Outside Edge and is probably best known for her role in Educating Rita for which she won a Bafta for Best Supporting Actress. Maureen is now a regular guest on many talk shows, and is well known on radio. She is a highly eloquent and amusing hostess.
