After Dinner Speakers: Martin Pipe, Simon Cowell, Judy Dench

Following his first winner (Hit Parade) in 1975, Martin Pipe has smashed almost every record in British National Hunt Racing. Champion National Hunt Trainer an amazing eleven times, he holds the achievements of the fastest 100, 150 and 200 winners in a season. He was the first trainer to saddle 200 winners in a season, a feat repeated a further seven times (no other trainer has yet managed one!). On Febuary 4th, 2000 he became the leading trainer in British Racing history passing the previous total of 2,988 winners and is now well into his fourth thousand. Martin Pipe's Cheltenham record is equally impressive having trained 25 winners at the prestigious Festival racing. He currently holds the record for the most winners at a single Cheltenham Festival - four in 1997 and 1998, which equalled a 50-year-old record. Despite his awesome record, The Cheltenham Gold Cup remains as one of the great races he has not yet secured.
