After Dinner Speakers: Lord King, Faith Popcorn, Shoshana Zuboff
The Rt. Hon, Lord King of Wartnaby, to give him his full title was the man charged by Margaret Thatcher to take the loss making national carrier, British Airways, into private ownership. He was chairman from 1981 to 1993 and after his retirement he remained as company president until 1997. All told he presided over British Airways most successful times.
Prior to his appointment at BA he was a career diplomat, rising to the lofty role as British Ambassador
to the United States.
Lord King is a true history maker having been an integral part of the Thatcher revolution of the decadent 80s. He has much to say about the times from his unique perspective.
