Kenneth Branagh is a most celebrated English actor and Director who formed his own company Renaissance Theatre, in 1987; it was soon followed by Renaissance Films. Once married to Emma Thompson, they formed one of the most glamorous celebrity couples of the 80s. His debut as a film director was particularly successful in 1989, with Henry V; he received favourable comparison with Laurence Oliviers earlier achievement in that role.
