After Dinner Speakers: John Craven, Howard Wilkinson, Wadaiko Yamato

John Craven is the presenter of the BBC programme Country File, which highlights rural and environmental issues. He has had many years of presenting but is most famous for the children’s news programme John Craven’s Newsround. In the Millennium Honours, John was awarded the OBE for services to children’s and rural broadcasting. First joining the BBC as a newswriter, he presented Newsround for 17 years and was the main presenter, before eventually becoming its editor. He also presented Saturday morning television for10 years. John’s programmes have won many awards including two BAFTAs and the TV Times Award. His worldly knowledge makes him a lively after dinner speaker on environmental issues and current affairs.
