After Dinner Speakers: Jenni Falconer, Dominik Diamond, Ralph Schumacher
Born in Glasgow in 1976, Jenny began a Spanish and Italian degree at Leeds University in 1994. However, during her first term, she appeared as a contestant on ITV's Blind Date and decided to put her course on hold to explore the possibility of working in television.
She secured work experience at a local radio station, and after being heard on air by a Scottish radio producer was offered other presenting opportunities.
She fronted a BBC Scotland production called Les Clips, which was transmitted on her 19th birthday. Then in March 1995 she got her first major break in television when she was asked to co-present BBC Scotland's outdoor and leisure series, The Big Country; a show she remained with throughout its three year duration.
In 1997 - while still at University - Jenni began presenting on a regional magazine show called Tonight, before joining ITV as a reporter on the current affairs show 3D and the consumer show, We Can Work It Out. As her TV workload increased, Jenni faced the difficult task of juggling her education and her career, so decided to put her degree on hold.
Throughout 1999 and 2000 Jenni continued to report on the third series of We Can Work It Out, alongside Caron Keating. She is currently narrating the second series of ITV's highly successful Pleasure Island, and will be presenting films for the BBC flagship programme Holiday later this year.
