Born in 1973 Jamie had a brilliant Junior career starting in 1991 when he competed for Great Britain three times including the European Junior Championships where he finished 7th over 200m and gained a silver medal as part of the 4 x 100m relay team.
In 1996 Jamie narrowly missed an individual place on the Olympic Team, however, as part of the exceptionally strong 4 x 400m team, he helped to raise the spirits of the British public by securing an Olympic Silver Medal. The following year he could not have hoped for a better start to the season setting seven personal bests over 60m, 200m and 400m, and in doing so broke the UK and Commonwealth Indoor Record for 400m in a time of 45.39 seconds.
Jamie’s superior racing form continued into the 1997 World Indoor Championships where he achieved a 400m Silver Medal, maintaining his position as a world-class athlete.
Jamie regularly appears on a variety of TV shows, and in numerous magazine features and newspaper articles. He is sponsored by Reebok sportswear and starred in two series of the successful sports show. ‘Energize’. Jamie is coached by Lindford Christie and is subsequently part of his training group ‘Team Linford’.
