In 1970 James Dyson was studying st the Royal College of Art when Jeremy Fry, the chairman of Rotork plc, offered him a job. Jeremy, himself an engineer, had invented a marine vehicle and appointed James to design it and manage the project at the age of just 23. The result was the Sea Truck, which to date has achieved sales of over $500 million in over 50 countries.However, James is best known for the Dual Cyclone vacuum cleaner which won the 1991 International Design Fair Prize in Japan and has revolutionised vacuum cleaner design throughout the world.Research and development remain at the heart of Dyson and his products have achieved sales of over £3 billion worldwide.James is a highly accomplished speaker on design issues and the patenting of ideas.
