After Dinner Speakers: Howard Davis, Will Mellor, Ray Charles

Howard Davis is a contemporary U.S. architect, currently active in the Pacific Northwest and in India. He received a Master's degree in Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley. He has been a professor of architecture at the University of Oregon since the 1980's, and his research into housing and vernacular building types provides a theoretical basis for his ongoing professional practice. A native of New York City, Davis was educated in physics at The Cooper Union and at Northwestern University, and in architecture at the University of California, Berkeley. He has worked professionally in the United States, England, India, Mexico and Israel; has taught at Edinburgh University, the University of California, Berkeley, The University of Texas at Austin and the Universidad Autonoma de Baja California. He is a co-author of The Production of Houses along with Christopher Alexander and others, and the author of many articles in professional journals.
