Gordon has been the face of Northwest Tonight and the lunchtime news bulletin since January 1997, since when the ratings have increased dramatically, as the people of the region have warmed to his friendly, but authoritative style of presentation. Viewers will remember him as presenter of The Krypton Factor for 18 years. But you may not know that Gordon not only hosted the show, but also helped shape the format and wrote the scripts. Gordon, whose career began on newspapers in Northern Ireland, has interviewed eight Prime Ministers. He also was co-writer and presenter of Relatively Speaking and the parlour game A Word in Your Ear. Gordon’s other credits include work for World in Action, Ulster Television and, in radio, for the Today programme and Sports Report. Gordon Burns is a television veteran who brings all his experience and charm to his work.
