After Dinner Speakers: Geri Halliwell, Pete Sampras, Justin Toper
After splitting from the Spice Girls in May 1998, Geri Halliwell began carving out her own "post-Ginger Spice" niche in the world. She sold her Spice clothes to raise more than $200,000 for a cancer charity, journeyed to Uganda for Comic Relief, was appointed a Goodwill Ambassador by the United Nations, and even got to sing "Happy Birthday" to the future king of England, Prince William.
Nearly a year after her departure from the Spice Girls, Halliwell released her debut solo album, Schizophonic, whose sound is a self-described cross between "Julie Andrews and Johnny Rotten." The album, released on Capitol Records, contained Halliwell's first single, "Look at Me."
