Many people say George Best was the world's greatest footballer. He was born At Belfast’s Royal Maternity Hospital on the 22nd May 1946 into a working class background.
George Best was the darling of his generation, a sexy, swinging, supremely talented football player who captured the essence of the 1960s with his swaggering style both on and off the pitch.
This was a man who won a European Cup with Manchester United in 1968, captained Northern Ireland while still in his early 20s, was described by Pelé as the most gifted natural player he had ever seen.
Ever in the public gaze, his wild lifestyle has cost him his health. He has recently undergone lifesaving liver transplant surgery.
George Best is simply the only person to tell his story.
