After Dinner Speakers: Gareth Edwards, Frank Meeks, Peter Cropper

Rugby legend with 53 consecutive appearances for Wales, with 13 as captain. Arguably the greatest of the Welsh Rugby giants to play on the world stage, Gareth Edwards was involved in three Grand Slams and five successive Triple Crowns, attaining 53 caps for his home country between 1967 and 1978. He captained Wales on 13 occasions and scored 20 tries. He was also a key player of the British Lions team, and was instrumental in the infamous victory over New Zealand in 1973- scoring a classic try that is repeated on television to this day. After the 1995 World Cup a rugby magazine polled 200 players, coaches, managers and writers, and Gareth was voted the greatest rugby player of all time. Since his retirement from the game in 1978 Gareth has gone on to become an accomplished writer, broadcaster and businessman.
