After Dinner Speakers: Freddie Trueman, Iron Maiden, David Seaman

Fiery Fred Trueman, is one of Yorkshire's best known sons. He played his first game for Yorkshire in 1949 at the age of only 18. In 1952 he won his first cap for England under captain Len Hutton, a batsman he always admired. He is reknowned for his sheer pace and hostility, and he became the first bowler ever to take 300 test wickets. In his England career of 67 tests spread over 13 years he became feared by batsmen the world over. During his time at Yorkshire he took 1,745 wickets and scored 6,852 runs with centuries against Northants and Middlesex, before retiring at the top when he led Yorkshire to victory against Australia in 1968.Fred's achievments allow him to be refered to as England's greatest fast bowler of all time. He is also a member of BBC Radio 3's commentary team and a columnist for the Sunday People. He is a great character and brilliantly entertaining after dinner speaker who is in extremely high demand.
