After Dinner Speakers: Frances Edmonds, Teresa Gorman, Daniella Westbrook
Frances was educated at the Ursuline Convent in Chester, an experience that neither party has ever truly recovered from. She graduated from New Hall Cambridge, with a first class honours degree in modern languages and humorous tendencies in French, Italian, Spanish as well as English. She then worked as a conference interpreter in Brussels, and worked for heads of state and government of the G7 countries. In 1976 she married the Middlesex and England cricketer, Phil Edmonds, where the fun all started as she accompanied him on tour. She wrote her first and highly controversial best seller "Another Bloody Tour" that launched her career as a writer, broadcaster and entertaining speaker. With time on her hands in the days when England could last out an innings or two Frances wrote her second novel "Cricket XXXX Cricket" and hosted Australia’s top-rated breakfast show "Good Morning Australia" where you guessed it she covered cricket and the Americas Cup for the London Times.Back in London in 1989 she wrote "Members Only" an irreverent search for signs of intelligent life at Westminster…she found few and went on to write her first novel "Samson and Delilah" and "Star of Heaven". Her third novel "Games" took a fictitious look at the inside track on the power, corruption and greed that surrounds the Olympic Games and was published in June 1996.
