Digby Jones is Director General of the CBI. Prior to joining the CBI, he was Vice Chairman of Corporate Finance at KPMG, where he acted as close adviser to many public companies across the United Kingdom.
He has also worked on the development of KPMG's global markets, to ensure consistency of service levels and quality of approach towards major global clients.
He started his career with corporate law firm Edge & Ellison, working in Property and Commercial Law and was made a Partner in 1984. It was in corporate finance and client development that he made his name and he was responsible for developing the firm's London presence and establishing representation in many European countries and several States in America.
Digby is the Senior non-executive Director of iSOFT plc, a director of Business in the Community, a member of the Advisory Board of the Commonwealth Education Fund, Chairman of the Tourism Alliance, a member of The National Learning and Skills Council and a Vice-President of UNICEF.
