After Dinner Speakers: Derek Jameson, Michel Roux, Robin Knox-Johnston
Derek Jameson is a national institution, having become editor of several newspapers and moving on to stardom in radio and television. Having begun work in Fleet Street as a messenger boy at the age of 14, Derek rose through the ranks to become Managing Editor of the Daily Mirror and Editor of the Daily Express, Daily Star and News of the World. Moving into television in the 1980’s, Derek subsequently presented “Do They Mean Us?” and his popular breakfast show on Radio 2. He then went on to present a chat show for six years with his wife Ellen. Now busy on the after-dinner circuit, he is also freelancing in radio and television, and the Guild of Toastmasters have named him “Least boring speaker in Britain.”
