After Dinner Speakers: David Ginola, Alan Minter, Collins Hemingway
David Ginola is the very personification of French flair.
David began his First Division football career in France with Toulon, moving through several French sides (including a very successful stint with Paris Saint-Germain) before being signed by Newcastle in 1995. Since then he has played on this side of the channel though he has been capped for France 17 times (many say he deserves more).
At Newcastle under Kevin Keegan he was allowed to show his natural talent and penchant for the outrageous. Following Keegan’s exit he was sold to Tottenham in ’97 where he won the Football Writers’ and PFA Player of the Year Awards after helping Spurs to the Worthington Cup Final. He transferred to Aston Villa in 2000 where he has quickly settled into his usual attacking role.
Ginola is also an international spokesperson for the Red Cross Anti-Landmines Campaign. A wonderful footballer and true gentleman, David Ginola embodies the kind of skill, professionalism and heart that young players aspire to. He is constantly in demand for personal appearances as a spokesman for his sport.
