After Dinner Speakers: Charlie Magri, Pete Townshend, Ronnie Corbett
Charlie Magri was born in 1956 in Tunisia and boasts a professional boxing record of 35 fights, 30 wins with 23 by way of knock out and 5 losses, he was the British, European and World Flyweight champion in a career lasting from 1977 to 1986.
Dominant over that period, particularly at British and European level, he retained his European title a staggering six time and only came to retirement when defeated by another British boxer Duke McKensie. Magri fought mostly in London and enjoyed enormous fanatical support.
A true professional, Charlie Magri offers a fascinating insight into the often-murky world of boxing.
