After Dinner Speakers: Anne Diamond, Herbert Giradet, Barry McGuigan

After beginning her career as a journalist and presenting on local BBC TV in Bristol, Anne Diamond joined TV-am in late 1983 as one of the replacements for the ‘Famous Five’. She presented along side Nick Owen and together they became an instant success and played a key part in boosting the ratings and saving the station. Previously Anne had worked for ATV and Central's regional news programmes and BBC TV's "Nationwide". When she left TV-am in 1988 she moved on to hosting quiz shows like "The Birthday Show" and daytime shows like "The Time...The Place" and "TV Weekly" before teaming up with Nick Owen again for BBC TV's "Good Morning with Anne and Nick". Anne has been particularly visible in campaigns about cot death after she lost a child of her own in that way. She is an entertaining and authoritative speaker full of charming anecdotes from her varied career in the media.
