After Dinner Speakers: Alan Price, Seve Ballesteros, Rubens Barrichello
Alan Price was born in 1941 in County Durham where from the age of eight he taught himself the piano, guitar and bass. Playing with local bands, from his teens with various members of the as yet unformed Animals.
In 1967 he had two major hits written by Randy Newman, Simon Smith And His Amazing Dancing Bear and The House That Jack Built.
Alan has also written several film scores including O Lucky Man in 1973 for which he was awarded a BAFTA. Multi talented Alan has also turned his hand to acting, winning awards for the most promising new British Actor in 1978 and 1979, this critical success led to a BBC television documentary series.
