Adzido was founded in 1984 by George Dzikunu (Artistic Director) with a pioneering vision to produce work on a large scale using the best possible facilities for production, designing and staging the work and collaborating with leading artists and companies. When Arts Council funding was attained in 1991, Adzido was able to retain a full performing company and has now established itself as the leading African dance company.
