Victoria Beckham, also known as Posh Spice, was a member of the é─˘90s girl group the Spice Girls. Born Victoria Adams in Hertfordshire, England, in 1974, she was interested in music and performing from a young age, and attended both the Jason Theatre School and Laine Arts Theatre College.
In 1994, Adams joined the all-girl pop band the Spice Girls, where she was nicknamed Posh Spice by the media, who picked up on her regal, fashion-conscious image. During the height of the groupé─˘s popularity Adams began dating British soccer star David Beckham and the pair eventually married in 1998. Ubiquitous targets of attention in the British tabloids, the duo were dubbed é─˙Posh & Becks.é─¨ After the Spice Girlsé─˘ third album, Forever, was released in 2000, the band decided to take an indefinite break from recording and performing. Subsequently, Victoria Beckham began a solo recording career and released her self-titled debut in 2001.
The Beckham remains a popular figure in the media and a multi million pound 'brand.' Victoria has expanded her creative endeavors into the fashion world, designing both jeans and sunglasses lines. In 2007, David Beckham signed a landmark contract to play for the Los Angeles Galaxy soccer team. Consequently, é─˙Posh & Becksé─¨ relocated to California, a move that was documented in the NBC reality television special Victoria Beckham: Coming to America.
